Generally, the textbook is one of the best government textbooks out there for senior secondary school students. Ranging from the quality of information to the details, I give it to the textbook.

Both textbooks are unique in their own ways. Having used both textbooks, I will give an honest opinion about each of them.
Comprehensive Government Textbook
When it comes to details in government, this textbook has it all for me. It tells historical stories mentioning the dates and places where these events took place. There is nothing more in government than detailed information especially as it concerns history.
One thing I dislike about this particular textbook is that it has typographical errors on some of the dates. Sometimes it provides a different but wrong date which I believe must be have been cause by one error or the other. In most cases, if I’m not sure of the date, I will check online or ascertain from other textbooks.
Essential Government Textbook
This is one of the popular and widely used textbook in secondary schools and it is highly recommended. It gives accurate and snappy information as the editors revise and update the textbook from time to time.
If you are looking for a textbook which covers all or most WAEC, JAMB or NECO syllabus, this textbook has it all.
However, one thing I dislike about this textbook is lack of details and itemization of facts. In other words, instead of telling a straight story following the story line, it chooses to list the facts one after the other which makes a little difficult for one to understand.
It also involves so many subheadings in every topic which sometimes makes a too much for students to memorize and understand.
Now, which one is the best between Comprehensive and Essential Government Textbook? Personally, I prefer Comprehensive government text book because of its details elaborate nature.
